Interpretation: 2/5. Didn't finish the book. Don't bother wasting your time.

Review: Oppression by Jessica Therrien

Synopsis:

Elyse knows what it means to keep a secret. She's been keeping secrets her whole life. Two, actually. First, that she ages five times slower than the average person, so that while she looks eighteen years old, she's closer to eighty. Second, that her blood has a mysterious power to heal. Now, only one other person in the world knows about her age and ability. Or so she thinks. Elyse is not the only one keeping secrets. There are others like her all over the world, descendants of the very people the Greeks considered gods. She is one of them, and they have been waiting for her for a long time. Among so many of her kind, she should not be very remarkable--except for the prophecy. Some believe she will put an end to traditions, safeguarded by violence, which have oppressed her people for centuries. Others are determined to keep her from doing just that. Interpretation: 3/5. Nice plot but not memorable. Still worth reading.
Btw, don't you find the frog in a jar cute!? I found it in a site somewhere and thought, Hey why not use this as my supposedly "star" for rating the books in my reviews!? ;;)

Let the reading and blogging start!

Finals week is FINALLY OVER!!! I am now free to do nothing but read YA books I can't stop ogling about. So what will you be expecting from my book blog? 


What I'm Currently Reading - take it in its literal sense. It will be about what I'm currently reading =))
Vocab - new words (at least new to me) that I will be encountering. So as to enhance my vocabulary ;-) Kinda lame and nerd-ish, eh?
Reviews - Well this site won't be considered as a "book blog" if it won't be containing book reviews right? ;)
What's hot and what's not? - Random list of books which I came to like/love very much and also books which didn't meet my expectations or I was just downright disappointed with.

Newb.. :O

I should be studying than spending time figuring out how to create my own book blog.... but I just can't help it! Ever since I've decided to commit myself more into reading Young-adult books I felt the NEED to create my own book blog and start reviewing the awesome YA books I've read that most definitely deserve recognition and heartfelt reviews. The reviews I post in goodreads don't do justice (I'm so sorry) on how mind-blowing they are. And also... I need a hobby! I mean besides indulging into the realms of YA books but being unable to share how I feel about them.. I need an outlet! And this is the solution to my dilemma. Now I am not promising anything. I won't promise that I will be able to update this every now and then because I've got to be honest.. studies still comes first-- the top of my priorities. This book blog site is purely out of my love for YA books and my need to get away from reality :-) After a week, expect me to start posting about book reviews and as well as the same stuffs that go through a book blog ;-)
